The first and most important goal of RLT is simple: Teach you how to live a wise relational life.
Relational Life Therapy is based on the assumption that your relationship is a practice. It’s like mindfulness meditation. Your relationship is built moment by moment, a little at a time. At HRCS, our goal is to get clear on patterns that create pain and disconnection. Then we replace them with healthy new patterns.
An example of how we work: we slow your conversations down. One of you will speak while the other one listens. You’ll learn that the Speaker and the Listener are different roles with different requirements. You’ll get practice doing both.
In our sessions, you’ll come to see that your relationship is an ecology. You breathe the air your behavior creates. You’ll lean into opportunities to cherish each other. You’ll learn to have empathy, as you behave in compassionate, mutually-beneficially ways. You’ll stop competing and start loving.
